About our micro-farm
What started as overgrown, blackberry-covered wasteland is now a thriving micro farm growing over 500 dahlias a year — and a place where wildlife, community and the love of flowers come together.
Meet Sarah
Grower, gardener, lifelong learner
Growing up surrounded by the beautiful gardens of my parents and grandparents here in South Gippsland, I came to understand something quietly profound — that a well-tended garden is one of the most generous things a person can create.
“What was wasteland is now the location of high quality, sustainably produced flowers. I couldn’t be more proud of that.”
I was already a keen gardener when a strong passion to understand the horticulture industry properly took hold. When my three children were all in school, I made the decision to switch professions — returning to study and completing a Diploma in Horticulture. It changed everything.
Since then, this little patch of Gippsland earth has been transformed into something I genuinely love — a working micro farm where over 500 dahlias grow each year, wildlife has returned and the community of people who love flowers and gardens continues to grow.

How we got here
The story of Grandview
Every garden has a beginning. Ours started with blackberries, overgrown land and a very clear sense of what this place could become.

Growing up surrounded by the flourishing gardens of my parents and grandparents here in South Gippsland, the garden always felt like home. That early reverence for plants and growing things never left.

With three children finally all in school, a long-held passion for horticulture led to a significant decision — a career change and the pursuit of a Diploma in Horticulture. What had always been a hobby became a vocation.

We built our home on an acre of South Gippsland land. Adjacent to it sat a section of commercial land — undulating, overgrown with blackberries and of no practical use to anyone. We saw something different in it.

What followed was a proper labour of love. We cleared the blackberries, removed dumped materials, levelled what we could and built a greenhouse. Then came the moment — the first dahlia planted in that newly cleared soil. Six years ago now.

We now grow over 500 dahlias each year. Wildlife has returned to the land. The greenhouse hosts workshops and serves as a space to create. What was once wasteland is now the source of high-quality, sustainably grown flowers for bouquets, events and home gardens across South Gippsland and beyond.
The Greenhouse
A contemporary space at the heart of it all
The contemporary greenhouse on the property is one of the first things visitors notice — and for good reason. It was built to serve a purpose: a dedicated space to grow, to create and, in time, to teach.
Today it sits at the centre of everything we do here — from nurturing seedlings and preparing arrangements to hosting workshops and open days for people who share our love of flowers.
